Why Strong Foundations?

At Strong Foundations, we are passionate about addressing a critical issue in rehabilitation and women’s health: exercise is often under-dosed. Pregnant and postpartum women, as well as older adults, are particularly at risk of being prescribed exercises that don’t match the strength, endurance, and mobility required for daily life.

Too often, people are guided through bed based, theraband or seated routines that, while gentle and safe at the beginning, are never progressed. This leaves individuals without the resilience they need for lifting their children, managing household tasks, returning to sport, or maintaining independence as they age. We believe exercise should evolve, it should challenge you appropriately, build capacity, and translate directly into functional strength that carries over into your everyday world.

We don’t do cookie cutter programs or exercises for the sake of it. Instead, we focus on building foundations that support the way you want to live, strong, capable, and ready for whatever life throws at you.

At Strong Foundations Physiotherapy, my focus with older adults is on keeping you strong, steady, and independent.

Too often, exercise for older adults is under-dosed, with bed or seated exercises that have their place, but don’t meet the demands of daily life unless they’re progressed, and progressed quickly. That’s why I use evidence-based functional training with progressive overload, so you build the strength, balance, and confidence to keep gardening, playing with grandkids, and enjoying the activities that make life meaningful..
